Art After Work (AAW):
Yasuyuki Kiyono – One time, One meeting

18 november kl. 17:00-21:00

The title of this exhibition, “One time, One meeting”, comes from the words “ICHIGO, ICHIE”, which are related to the traditional Japanese tea ceremony. This indicates “A mindset that those moments and encounters are precious and will never be repeated.”Although this exhibition is only for one night, we hope that your encounter with these works will be a special moment.

We look forward to the new exchanges and connections that will emerge through this opportunity.
I was born in 1962 and am currently an artist and professor of painting and printmaking at Tokyo Gakugei University. I am also a visiting researcher at Malmō University, where I am staying at the moment.

Throughout my career, my work has been centered around the theme of “coexistence,” exploring the interdependent relationships between flowers and bees as a way of reflecting on the connections between various forms of life. For this exhibition, I am presenting a series of water-based monotype prints created at KKV, focusing on works I began two years ago. In these prints, I use the delicate beauty of leaf veins as a symbol of “absent presence,” aiming to capture the fleeting sensations we experience when encountering fragile, ephemeral things. In addition to my own works, this exhibition also features bookplates created by students from the Affiliated International Secondary School and printmaking works by students I have taught at Malmõ University.
